Step-by-step PDF guide

PDF Privacy Checklist Before Uploading Documents

Check document sensitivity and understand browser-versus-server processing.

Know what you are uploading

PDF files can contain personal details, confidential contracts, account statements, embedded comments, and metadata. Use sample files for initial testing.

Browser processing and server processing

Some operations may run locally in your browser; others may send files to servers or optional third-party services. Do not assume all operations are entirely on-device.

Review documents before sharing

Look for hidden notes, pages you did not intend to include, and old versions of text. Covering text with a white rectangle is not reliable redaction.

For highly sensitive files

Use organization-approved software and consult the Security and Privacy pages. Do not rely on unverified deletion times or compliance certifications.

Try it on PDFEditFlow

Use a non-sensitive test file first, then check the exported result before sharing.
